Observe this, a tableau
unbalanced,
uncoveted, like a bruise.

A splendour, like obsession;
like colours
pressed into inheritance.

The black dog watches
as you redress; pain-spattered
grey and crimson

while the mirror waits, ungently
for you to recognize
your framed reflection.
